In this down economic time, more and more of us are switching to different ways of saving money when it comes to food. One of the most popular is by switching to organic gardening. It’s no longer farmers who are doing this but now there’s organic gardening for beginners. Many of my friends didn’t think there will be a time when they’ll have to have their own garden but if that is what it calls for to put food on the table, then absolutely, that is what will be done.

The Challenge however is how do we do this? Many ask, is organic gardening right for me? How do I water? What should I plant? How to care for the plant? And on and on.

The Ultimate answer is that it all depends. Let’s take for example, the almighty tomato.

Everyone wants some way to grow there tomato since these is one of the most widely know and use vegetable. But little do many know that it is necessary to sow tomato seeds indoors during winter because tomatoes are usually grown in warmer months as they’re badly effected by frosts.

Along with temperature, watering can also become a big concern if not done probably. Too much water and they’ll split. Not enough water and they’ll split. It might take you a couple of seasons depending on your local conditions to perfect the right amount of water you should give them. It’s advisable to soak the roots every 2-3 days. Remember to avoid getting water on the leaves late in the afternoon or the tomatoes might get powdery mildew.

And after a while you are ready to reap your harvest. When should you pick them? Some people say when they’re ripe on the vine which normally occurs 2-3 month later. Others pick them at the first sign of color, ripening them indoors. Experiment and see what you think. To pick tomatoes make sure you cut the stem cleanly with scissors or a knife. This reduces the chance of damaging the fruit.

The point though is that when it comes organic gardening for beginners especially, it is not always as challenging as it might appears, what a beginner needs is some sort of beginners manual for organic gardening.

Speaking of beginner’s manual for organic gardening, did i mention that it does exist. Yes you can get your very own organic gardening for beginners manual if you fo to http://your-yard-gardening-tips.com, on that page you’ll get the link to the organic gardening manual. Best success to you gardening endeavours.
